Elie Crief
Elie Crief grew up in a small town near Paris, France. After several years of study in engineering and computer science, he decided to drop out of school and spend some time abroad in Boston, MA. After taking English courses for a few months, he decided to stay in the U.S. and study sociology. He recently moved to Philadelphia pursue a Master of Science in education. Elie is interested in the study of education and schooling which he considers to be an institutional system of oppression and social reproduction. Elie wishes to work toward engaging people’s political consciousness in order to politicize education and class analysis. When academia does not take up all his energy and time, he likes to read and play the drums.
