Penelope Ramirez
Penelope Ramirez is a proud Black Dominican whose originally from The Bronx, NY. As a community organizer, youth educator and a lover of art produced by Black & Brown people she believes that community is the source of resistance and resiliency, and that we must continue to root ourselves practices of intentionally accountability in order to create communities that heal from violence. At Penn, Penelope is enrolled in the ECS program at the Graduate School of Education and is interested in studying how community organizing spaces and out-of-school time programs shape Black girls sense of belonging and contest the school-to-prison pipeline.
