Kaitlin McCann — Activism Beyond the Classroom

Kaitlin is completing a masters program in Education, Culture and Society at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a full-time middle school teacher in the School District of Philadelphia. Her mission for social justice is harnessed through being a member of The Caucus of Working Educators (WE), a member-driven organization within the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers (PFT) union. Kaitlin's research and practice lie in the realms of teacher organizing, restorative practices, mindfulness and history curriculum writing. She aspires to continue influencing the minds of young people and educators to be active in their community to create change.
